30 yard option pass
The Tigers completed only one pass, and it wasn't by Buchert. Coniker, a sophomore receiver, threw a 30-yard option pass to Slivka in the third quarter, setting up Buchert's 1-yard touchdown on the next play.
La Salle's hopes were dashed when Slivka intercepted a pass with 5:32 left in the fourth quarter. Those hopes were crushed when Coniker recovered a fumble a few minutes later

North Allegheny completed one pass against LaSalle, but it was an end-around, 30-yard toss by receiver Brendan Coniker that set up a touchdown. In three PIAA playoff games, North Allegheny had only 160 yards passing.
Then on third-and-17, North Allegheny pulled out a trick play. An end-around pass from Coniker to Dan Slivka was good for 30 yards to the LaSalle 1. Buchert scored on the next play with 7:46 left in the third quarter.

Recovered another fumble
Seth Marx, Matt Steinbeck and Dan Slivka added interceptions, and Brendan Coniker recovered another fumble. Two of La Salle's first three possessions ended with turnovers.

Two Game-Changing Plays
In the third quarter, North Allegheny sophomore Brendan Coniker had two game-changing plays: a 66-yard punt return and an interception deep in NA territory. Two plays after the long return, Congedo scored his second touchdown. The 6-yard run extended North Allegheny's lead to 21-6 with 9:19 left in the quarter.
Coniker's interception stopped State College's next drive at North Allegheny's 20-yard line.
